How can I permanently remove a mounted virtual drive?

I mounted an image file (an ISO) using MS Virtual CD Rom. It was assigned Drive Letter Y. When I finished using this I used the Remove Drive Button as usual to remove the virtual drive, but it keeps appearing again. I have tried removing it many times and it always comes back the next time I login.

How can I permanently remove this virtual drive?

I wouldnt touch Alchohol 120 with a barge pole,Yep it works and will solve the problems..but type "remove alcohol 120" into Google and read the forums of the poor souls trying to remove the damn program!!! Put a trial of power ISO on the pc,remove the virtual drive, uninstall Power ISO,job done

:) you should uninstall the offending prog that caused the error and then use a reg cleaner fixer to try or like matey boy said install another image manager and create and delete appropriatedrives i recomend Alcohol 120 percent as others use to much resource.

If MS Virtual CDROM is having problems removing the drive, install another Virtual drive tool (I recommend "Fantom"), this should recognise the volume mounting parameters and allow you to remove it.

There's no point in messing about with Control Panel\Admin tools\computer management\drives as this only deals with physical devices.
