How to replace lid switch or its fuse to Maytag MAV6200AWW top loading wash?

Could someone please tell me if the lid switch to my Maytag Serial # 20119968ZH toploading washer contains a 1 amp fuse. If so, how do I get at it? What is the usual protocol when you test your lid switch and find it to have no power going through it? Do you replace the enitire switch itself, or the fuse? There is no fuse that I can see anywhere near the switch according to the schematic drawing. The drawing says there would be a ten amp fuse, if it was along side it. The washer was going fine, then I lifted the lid to add another article of clothing to the cycle, already filled with water and agitating. Then when I put the lid back down, nothing worked again. There were no problems noted before, of any kind. I also tested for continuity between the machine and the motor, when unplugged, with the ohm tester, and noted continuity. So I'm a little more than confused as to what the real problem is? Please suggest. Thank-you from Carol-Ann

I too have this same problem, but saw no answer posted. Did you or anyone figure it our? Thanks!
