How do I fix my electrical socket?

The plastic front panel of one of my eletrical sockets built into the wall will not screw in at all. I have tried different screws but they just slip out. Is there a way of rethreading the socket and do I need special screws? Replacing the socket isn't a viable option.

Yes...you can buy a 3.5mm threader from any electrical wholesaler...City electrics are good and this should fix the lug which the screws go into.
The threader is like a small screwdriver and costs a few pounds.
If you go into any lctrical wholesaler and explain the problem they will put you right

A 3cm long size 4 or size 5 screw will do the job.
