Dual XD7500 CD-RW Car Stereo Copper Wire running to faceplate?

My CD player in my car is a dual xd7500 cd-rw. the faceplate opens and closes, It shorted out. somehow the copper wire that runs to the faceplate came lose. It appears to have been glued inside the front some where?? I have pictures if u would like to see. I need to know where this copper wire glues back to.. I just dont want to throw it away. I cant post the pictures here. Its a flat copper wire about 1/2 inch wide. It comes from the stereo to the front faceplate, were in the front faceplate does it hook to?

This ribbon cable is easy to change. All that is needed is a screwdriver. You will have to remove the deck from your vehicle, and remove the top cover. from there you should be able to remove the old cable and replace with a new one.

Same Problem with mine. . .
Just had to buy a new one, you can still get a few extra dollars for yours on eBay though.
I still haven't sold mine and would also like to know if you can fix this! Its called a ribbon cable. Most people say they are very hard to replace. I'm now trying to take off the faceplate but have forgotten how :-(
