My Dyson upright cleaner cuts out?

My Dyson upright vacuum cleaner cuts out. It must be overheating, because it will start again after a cooling off period. I have cleaned the filter, but it is still doing it. It is a DC07 purple/lime model. What should I do?

j.d.s.here again I am sorry for wrong information I did not read your full question.overheating is caused by,either ,blockage, dirty filters or bad motor dyson motors are fitted with overheat protectors, this cannot be replaced as it is part of motor to check, start up vac feel suction at hose if o.k. take out filters and run vac again if o.k. your problem is motor to purchase motor last price I knew was £65 this job is not worth doing as dyson prices are lower than before good luck

the most likely cause is cable if you switch the vac on waggle cable about if it starts up it is a break somewhere in the inner cable you can attempt to disconnect and cut bad cable off but from past experience this method is not very successful you are better replacing cable cost, to purchase cable £12.95, to supply and fit £30 we are in lanarkshire scotland, feel free to e-mail jonsemple@talktalk.net
