I tried to download windows defender. It failed to install because "search glow" needed to be modified but was in use. I need to end this program before windows defender can be installed. I did a full seach which turned up nothing. What is seach glow? How do I remove or modify it? I am using Windows XP Professional. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Disabled it and search_glow went away.

Search Glow is a virus, it cannot be removed manually, firstly unintall your Java Run time by using Add or Remove and then, intall the Jav Run time again and Scan your computer by any Anti virus programme, it will help you to delete the Search Glow.

I have never heard of search glow but you may google it and see what it says, pressing ctrl, alt and delete at the same time will bring up the task manager screen go to processes and look for search glow, highlight it and end task. hope that helps
