HI, MY NAMES ALAN, IM RETIRED AFTER 37YRS IN MY OWN DOMESTIC APPLIANCE REPAIRS, STEP1, KNOCK OFF BOTH WATER FEED TAPS, 2, PULL OUT THE WASHER FROM ITS NORMAL PLACE WATCHING AS YOU DO SO YOU DONT RIP OFF BOTH FEED WATER PIPES, ALSO THE DRAIN PIPES, GET THE WASHER IN A POSITION SO YOU CAN REMOVE THE TOP, THIS IS SECURED BY 2 SELF TAPPING SCREWS, BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE TOP DISCONECT THE POWER PLUG FROM THE WALL, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AFTER YOU REMOVE THE TOP YOU WILL SEE THE ELECTRIC MOTOR WITH A MASS OF WIRES ON IT, DONT BE DISTURBED BY THIS,3 REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE BACK OF THE MOTOR WHICH WILL PROBABLY HAVE A NYLON BAND SECURING IT,CUT THIS OFF AND PULL OUT THE PLUG,4 THERE ARE TWO BOLTS SECURING THE MOTOR TO THE DRUM, REMOVE THESE AND THE RIBBED BELT, TAKE OUT THE MOTOR ,LAY IT ON A PIECE OF PAPER BECAUSE IT WILL HAVE CARBON DUST ON ITS BODY, 5 PUT A SCREWDRIVER BEHIND THE BRUSH HOLDER TAGS, AFTER TAKING OFF THE SMALL ELECTRIC WIRES, PUT A SMALL SCREWDRIVER UNDER THE PLASTIC BRUSH HOLDERS AND LEVER UPWARDS,THESE HOLDERS CAN NOW BE THROWN,6 WHEN YOU INSERT THE NEW BRUSHES IN THEIR HOLDERS YOU WILL HAVE TO FREE THE CARBON BRUSH BY USING A SMALL NEEDLE THE BRUSHES WILL THEN SPRING OUTWARDS,.7 WHEN FITTING THESE TO THE MOTOR TAKE YOUR TIME AS THEY BREAK EASILY IF YOU FORCE THEM,YOU JUST THE FOLLOW THE SAME INSTRUCTIONS IN REVERSE, HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU ALAN (WASHER MAN)
