Baxi Solo Pilot light not working?

Hi,

Trying to re-ignite our Baxi Solo boiler, but the pilot light is only relighting for short periods of time. Sometimes barely long enough to heat the tank, but the majority of the time for only a few seconds (before clikcing and going out again) or not at all.

Can anyone offer any advice ?

Many thanks in advance.

the thermocouple most likley needs replacing as this is the device that keeps the gas supply valve to the pilot open. It works by the principle of two different metals when the end that is in the flame path is heated by the pilot flame a voltage is created between the metals this sends a signal to the supply v/v thus keeping the v/v in the open position.
