How can I fix my hand wheel problem with my 1913 White FR Treadle?

I attempted to remove my hand wheel to clean it and I couldn't get it completely off so I put it back in place and replaced the screws. Now the wheel won't turn and if I gently attempt to move the arm up or down I hear a thump and see the hand wheel move out slightly. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? I can't find a diagram of the internal parts anywhere. Thanks, Bonnie

Hello Bonnie,
Undo the screw in the balance wheel, unscrew the big stop motion and take it off completely, there will be a large 3 pronged washer, make sure the washer is completely sitting in the grooves, screw the stop motion back on as far as it will go, put the small screw back in and test the stop motion to see if it will disengage to wind the bobbin, any problems you can e-mail me if you wish, drivewithken@blueyonder.co.uk
