The solenoids are easy to replace, but can ususally be repaired.

They work by servo acion, that is the solenoid opens a tiny valve that allows the water presure to drain behind the pressure diaphram and the water pressure forces open the diaphram. Usually all that happens is they get muck in the them and stop working. Disconnect the power and water suppy, remove the solenoid, undo the 4 screw holding the solenoid together, and carefully open it up. There is a small spring/plunger that will pop out if you are not careful. Watch which way the rubber diapham sits. Give it a clean with a toothbrush, paying partiicular attention to the 2 tiny holes. Put it back to gether and try it.

Also check the hoses, there is usually an inline strainer at the tap end, that can get blocked up with scale also. Check it first!

Another trick is if you only use cold water, 99% of the time, is to simply swap the two solenoids around.
