How do I add drivers for an external cdrom?

In trying to put a Linux system on our Panasonic Toughbook CF-27EB, we lost the whole system including the cdrom drivers. All we know for sure is the cdrom is a Toshiba. We have been in circles on the WWW looking for drivers and/or information....

Try using a different version of linux look on www.linux.com as most of linux is free some have better hardware compatibility if it is a usb drive make sure the usb ports are working if it is a special connection type then you probably wont get it working.
