i tried to unlock my rover 214si with my imobolizer buttons and it would not work. i have absolutely no idea on how or if i can get this problem sorted. my car is M reg, i bought a new battery for the buttons but that has not solved anything. i hope you can help me with this as i have phoned round lots of garages and no-one knows how to help.

There is a way around this but you need the security code for your car and the handbook which contains the instructions on how to use the code. If you have lost either/both, you can get the security code from (if you can find one) a Rover dealership and they can supply handbooks as well. Once you are at this point you may want to go back to using your plip (fob). It could be broken or it could have lost contact with the car. In either case you need a dealer who has a diagnostic computer in order to reprogram your plip or a new one.
