Duel Monitors not having same visual when moved over in same spot?

I have duel monitors on my dell computer at work to help make the visual more productive. my problem is the visual from the one monitor, which is the monitor #2 is lower than the visual on Monitor #1. when I slide the window over it goes up higher about 2 inches. I lowered the screens as far as I can. the one screen is set verticle in and other is horizonal. It is annoying and also, when I bring over a window from #2 to #1 it magnifies and is off the screen. It should not be working this way. Other co workers do not have the problem and the It dept seems stumped. How can this be resolved. Also, my mouse does not work the same on each moniter, can there be a connection?

Maybe you should stop them duelling first!

If you have not figured it out already---> right click your desktop---> properties--> settings, and set both monitors to the same screen resolution.
