Hard drive renamed?

Hi all
The problem is as follows, i down load a lot of music and save it to my windows media player. this creates a file path to my external hard drive"classic drive (F)" This has worked for ages but i recently pluged in another storage device and my computer has now renamed my hard drive "classic drive (G)" so the file path no longer works. How can i rename my hard drive back to its origanal drive name of (F) ????? please can any one help????

Portable HDD's don't normally have drive letters assigned to them and thus may not always have the same drive letter/path if they are removed or, in your case superceded.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. Select Disk Management in the left hand pane. Right click on your external HDD and select Change Drive Letter and Paths...

Assign it a drive letter of F: and all should be good.

A note - make sure no other drive is using F:, if so you may need to remove it first.
