i had turn off the mains water today do i need to check anything on the gas combi boiler

No.... once the combi system is filled it remains sealed from the mains ( with the exception of the domestic hot water of course... you could run some hot water to make sure there is no air in the heat exchanger... if you get no splutter from taps after about a gallon, all should be well)
