My Samsung DVD-VR330 will not eject it's disc?

I was attempting to update the firmware on my Samsung DVD-VR330 and it gave me an error message stating the update was unsuccessful and the DVD drawer has not opened since. I hit the eject button and the display says "OPEN" for hours, never actually opening. I have left it unplugged from everything for 5 days and still will not eject the disc when plugged back in. I have gone so far as to open the whole unit up and physically remove the disc and still it will not eject the DVD drawer. I have done the manuevers to tell the unit to reset to factory settings, but nothing happened; my understanding from the instruction book is that it won't work if there is a disc or tape in the unit and the unit thinks there is a disc in there. I have unplugged the DVD player/recorder from the other circuitry in the unit and plugged it back in, but still no eject. I called Samsung and they were no help. I am contemplating TiVo. Any other suggestions? I would consider mailing it to someone who thougth they could fix it, or at least make it look like it was broken in transit so I could could collect on the postage insurance (kidding).

I have a VR 331. Similar problem. I took top off and, with great difficulty, got it to open the drawer.
Now the DVD flap/door stays open! Can not see how it shuts so - as Chris stated - I have to tape it shut, and untape it when it requires use!

I know this is an old question but Samsung website says pressing channel up and down for fifteen seconds resets factory defaults.

No firmware upgrade, but seems to occur with certain disks. Simply unplugging and plugging back in has worked so far...

Where did you find firmware updates for DVD-VR330 as stated? How do you perform a factory reset as stated?

Try holding the little flap door open for about a minute or so... that worked once for me when nothing else was working. Do this while it's plugged in and "attempting to open" as it will continuously say. Just be careful not to punch the front of your unit... I did and my flap door now needs to be taped shut. LOL
