I suppose you can get a component/RGB video cable from the set top box to the recorder
or S-Video or Composite if the set top box does not have a Component/RGB output
the set top box should have at least one of the following video outputs:
Component/RGB (3 completely seperate sockets, red+green+blue)
S-Video (strange looking round socket which takes 4 pins and a big rectangle pin)
Composite (single yellow socket, "CVBS")
your Conia MR2501HD should have all 3 of those inputs available so get whichever cable the set top box has an output for.
to get the best quality possible I suggest trying in this order:
1. try Component/RGB.
2. if not, then try S-Video
3. if not, then try Composite/CVBS.
