We recently had a power cut which cut off our washing machine in mid cycle, since then the machine seems to be stuck as all that happens now is the door light just flashes but the machine does not start?

ours did that. I put pressure against the door (towards machine) turned it off, it made a clicking noise then when i turned it back on and pulled the door it opened. However i think thats just the start of your problems ours now bangs and this morning. the button went pop the dial for wash cycle is spinning around. So i would get someone to look at it! Hope this helps
