how can i fix the sound on my magnavox tv?

i have a magnavox smart set tv and there is barely sound when turned all the way up but the picture is perfectly clear what could be the problem?

If you've got the set top box, video, dvd connected, pull out either the video scart lead or the dvd scart and the volume will shoot up loud, so turn it down first before you do this.
