how can I fix my philips Azur 4200 steam iron?

My Philips Azur 4200 steam irons trips the elecrticity in my house every time I try to switch on my iron. What is the problem and How do I fix it?
anon, May 2007
This fix applies to the Azur 4020 iron. The top part (handle) is attached to the body by three screws, The two at the rear end are easily seen, however the third screw at the front is concealed. To access it, you first need to price off the water filling part in the top section of the handle. You will then see the front screw and two of the four clips holding the two sections of the handle together. The second pair of clips are at the rear of the handle. Undo them and the two parts will separate, allowing you to dismantle the iron.

Mine does the same. The electrical fault in my iron is between neutral and earth. I am just trying to work our how to dismantle the iron without damage to find the cause.
I cannot yet find a repair manual and it is not cost effective to return it to a Philips repair centre.
