I had the same problem twice with mine. The TV repair man Mr Dunn from Kinglassie in Fife spent a lot of time on it and could not pinpoint the fault to begin with. It was just about to be binned when he said he fixed it. Don't know how or what was wrong with it. You may want to phone him and ask. Dont have his number at hand but im sure you will find it if you want to. Regards Eddie

Mine has just done the same.
The fault on mine is the transistor that switches the HT transformer.
The set has protection software installed which checks the set to see if it's OK.

Clean the shiny light.

For months the remotes only worked intermittently and after much swearing at the TV it finally occurred to me to clean the sensor on the front. Instant success!! :-)

I am curious what makes you think the fuse was bad and why did you change it?
My guess is that, it was the only part in the tv that plugged in,,,,LOL.

Seriously though. stay out of a tv until you have at least 2 years at an accredited college to learn at least basic electronics theory.

Hi,first you have to check the voltage regulator and the horizontal output, one of them seems to me that is blow,i am an electronic technitian, and i had to repair two of them.

Hi

I had this same problem. The sony TVs have a "Damp Protection" circuit. If you warm the room up and keep it warm then it should dry out and be fine.

The damp can come from the TV being near an open window or a sudden change ing room temperature.

Its not in the Sony Manual.
