how can I change the 6x9 speakers in the back of my 98' lincoln continental?

I am trying to add 500 watt 6x9 speakers in my car but i have to take out the old ones and it is like clips from taking them out that I cant get up so how do I change them same thing for 2000 grand am

you can cut the clips off, and then attach the bare wire to the speaker itself. i'm guessing that you spent some money, so you'll probably want to solder the wires to the speaker to give you a strong connection. you can also try to keep the clips and re-use them, but if you don't care, it would be easier to throw them away.
