I would like to know what is a flashing message that I get on my kenwood stereo :OCER ?
I started getting this message after I Took off the Bass on the stereo. Now I cant hear the radio or my make the CD's come on. I can insert the cd inside the stereo but nothing comes on.

i just fixed mine i had two 12' subs and i had a shity box so if i bumped it to loud it sounded like shit do to rattling, so i disconnected one speaker its sounds better now, but the 2 wires touched and sett the OCER think on i tapped wires so they dont touch and reset it and boom works like a charm hope this helps

There should be a small "reset" button near the SRC button (on most models - if not check on the other side) that should look about the size of the tip of a pen. Push that in, hold it for a few seconds, and if that doesn't make the DCER message disappear, you'll need to either rewire the speaker system, or, worst case, get another speaker because you played your music too loud and blew it out!

i got that too, but i noticed the volume faded before it popped up on the screen,so i checked the wiring, i noticed it was only my wires going to the speaker was backwards so i swiched them around then reset the radio, it's working fine now. it's sometimes hard to know what you're wiring is on some vehicles,like mine for instance; you have 3 different configurations for the same car model and the same year, the only difference it turns out is whether it was a 2,4, or station wagon, they all were wired up different for some stupid reason...and before you ask what kind of car is it, it's an '89 Toyota Corolla DiX, but i don't see a difference between that and the DX version,lol. still checking into that one, but that's another topic.

your stereo has put itself into a protection state because of a ground short in the speaker wiring. you need to check your connections and make sure they are properly insulated. may also need to replace a blown speaker.

Ah, just found it in the manual.

"DCER: The speaker wire has a short circuit or touches the chasis of the vehicle, and then the protection function is activated.

-> Wire or insulted the speaker cable properly and press the reset button. If the "DCER" code does not disappear consult your nearest service center"
