My washing machine has a leak. How can I determine the origin of the leak?

My washing machine (Whirlpool model# LSR7233EQ0) has a leak. A small pool of water forms at the front base of the machine after running a load. How can I determine the origin of the leak? I have checked all the hoses, connections, and the tub. It appears as though the Pump is the root cause. How can I be certain?

how to replace water pump for a direct drive LSR&233EQ0 whirlpool washer

Eric Martin, June 2007
If it's coming from the front it is the water pump. Replace pump. Help is at www.applianceaid.com and part is available at pointandclickapplianceparts.
