I have been trying to fix my daughters Ariston and in the process I stretched the filling pipe leading from under the powder draw which goes to the drum. The drum movement was more than the pipe length could take and as it was a push fit at the draw end it partly eased off. Check your powder draw hose is still connected and has no holes or blockages. You should be able to access the draw by removing the top cover of the machine.

Turn the power off first.

Gill,

I have an Ariston that did exactly the same thing - we got a wachine machine repair man in, and he replaced the drain pump fro £85 and all is well. I suspect it was something to do with the drain pump filter getting blocked, and over loading the pump, so it couldn't drain quick enough. So it would start spinning even though it hadn't drained properly - hence water spewingout of detergent drawer!
