7" Portable DVD Player reads bad disc or screen freezes?

I have a 7" Portable DVD Player (PDM-2727). When any DVD is inserted in the player, it reads Bad Disc or it will start playing the DVD and then the screen freezes. ?????

My portable dvd player kept giving the message "wrong disc". How I fixed it was to clean the laser lense. Dip a cotton bud in a little alcohol (we used Stolichnaya vodka) and gently (v. gently!) clean the laser lense.
