Replace hard drive in HP 6735?

Hello, I have an HP 6735 that won't boot up. It's looking for the "C" drive. I presume the harddrive has failed. Can I replace this hard drive?

Thanks...Dan

You can replace your own hard drive, if it is an EIDE drive then you may have to limit its sizes to 32MB as some older machines cannot see beyond this limit. Take a close look at the drive you are removing there should be some jumpers (little pins) with a plastic connectoe over them, this specifies how the drive is recognised by the pc, either master, Cable select or slave, set your new drive the same.

You will then need to re-install you operating system on it.
