When I start a programme the machine starts but the the programe dial starts turning and clicking continuously. I've counted 8 flashes on the power light. What am I lloking to replace?

you need to clean the filter this does this a lot on my own indesit wd12s

There may be an earth leak on the machine how far into the cycle does the error occur?
Whenever the dial starts clicking around like that it signifys that the machine has a fault no depending where this fault has occured in the cycle depends on what is wrong with the machine. If immediate check the water valves with a multimeter. If the machine has filled but the drum hasnt turned look for a motor fault. If the motor is turning check the heating element for earth leaks I hope this helps.

Additionally you can get these machines confused by moving the dial in the wash if this is the case you need to reset the machine to do this place the dial to an off position generally a black dot or line switch the power on wait for the power light to blink rapidly the machine is then reset you can then try a new programme. If however you find that the dial starts rotating when placed in an off position the main circuit board has had it you then need to replace that.

If it is not on this site, it may be on washerhelp.co.uk.
Hope this helps

I have checked the other indesit pages and none of them has the same fault code.

I've lost the hand book so cannot check tht either.

This seems to be a common indesit problem - somewhere on this site someone has answered this one. But look in your manual that came with it. I think the answer is to put the programme dial on the 'black spot' and switch on. This should stop it turning around.
