Electrolux Power Nozzle won't run.. Vacuum runs fine. When power nozzle is put on hose, light on top of unit comes on and power nozzle won't turn on.

We ordered a new hose - same problem. Tried power nozzle on another machine.. & it works fine.. so problem is in 2100.

Of course we can't find our manual to tell us what the light is for.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

it's the control valve, it's attached to the dial on top of the machine. if your handy you can replace it yourself. see how to open the machine elsewhere among these questions. otherwise take it to an aerus/electrolux shop. don't let them sell you a new vacuum. the newer models aren't as well designed.

Rob, when you add the power nozzle which light on the top the machine comes on...?

There are four lights.

1 shows that the power is connected---little green plug

2 an indicator that shows a full bag---looks like a box with cross hatch marks

3 an indicator that shows no bag installed---looks like a ?

4 an indicator that shows overheat---looks like a thermometer


Send me note telling me which light comes on....most likely the full bag light...

I will help diagnose the issue...
