when i pu dvd on the screen its says "load" and than its says "no disc" pls help me...

I own a polaroid pdx 0073 portable dvd player I bought 6 months ago and successfully changed the region codes. last week it stopped working. Since the warranty ran out, i bought a new same model player used the same hack to change the region code but it woudl not change it .
Turn on with no DVD inserted.
open lid
use remote:
hit setup
use arrow keys to "preference menu"
enter code 1379
region code wil appear
use arrow keys to move to your choice of region or move to"0" fr all codes - hit enter
DONE.


The region coe 1 came up but the arrows will not let me change the code. Do you know how to change region codes on the new ones?

May seem obvious but Have you tried a laser cleaning disc, available at most DVD stores.
