Packard Bell monitor bit too dark?

My packard bell monitor (model A726) is ok but i've got the settings at it's brightest and it's still a bit dark. Could there be something wrong with it or are there further settings i don't know about? maybe to do with the computer itself?

I've got the exact same problem with my monitor which is the same as yours. Its just the monitor thats old, no matter what graphcis card you have the monitor only has a low brightness setting, even on max. The only options is to get a new monitor realy i you want to display thigns brightly and also in perfect ratio.

Gamma Correction required. This is a problem typically seen with aging CRTs.
This option is seen (among with brightness/contrast) in most graphic card configurations. (found as stated above)

Your graphics card may have adjustments as well. Look up how to alter these. (Probably find them by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting Properties, then the Settings Tab, then the Advanced Button.)
