i need to do a clean format and erase all data.i cant delete my C: drive. i can only reinstall windows but all the old data is still there

If you have the windows installation disk then boot up from that
if your puter wont boot up from it then hold down del key to get to the bios and set the boot device to cdrom. once you have formatted and reinstalled windows set the boot device back to C:

Reformat your drive using the Disk Drive Installation Utility program full format (DOS version), which can be downloaded for free from the Drive Manufactor's WEB Site:

the easyest way i find is to take your hard drive out and if you have another pc, or a friend attach it to theres and format that way. but that is if you got another pc... but make sure you have the jumpers put in the right order
