How do I override the code to record a DVD onto a video cassette?

I have a video/DVD Sansui Model San1001 and I want to play a DVD and record it onto a video cassette. I have been told that there is a series of steps to follow and this will enable the DVD to be copied. Am I correct. Can you help.

i would download dvd shrink (freeware) and nero dvd software it will take out the macrovision protecting the copy right .Copy the disc onto a dvd-r using the above then record off that disc you have two copies then ,happy copying!

Have a look on www.videohelp.com for DVD hacks - you will need to find your model and it might have the codes to remove macrovision
