Not much info here but.. Webcams are a bit notorious for being problematic. Is it a USB webcam? The important thing here is to install drivers before plugging in the cam usb connector. Then when you plug in the USB the installer will find the device and load the drivers automatically. Does it require USB 2.0 and you are using the older USB 1.1? Finally with it plugged in it may be accessible as a twain device. If all fails, remove all its drivers, and any other references to the thing and start a clean install from scratch (incidently disable anti spyware / anti virus/ firewalls etc. Hope it helps!
