I need help to convert by Samsung dvd r-149 to a multi regional player

How do I convert my Samsung R-149 back from region 1 to either region 2 or multi-region,

Hi Adam. Thanks! This worked! We had to try to play a dvd that we could not get to work before the right menu popped up and then your instructions worked. 2 very happy children and 2 very happy parents!

Hi just bought the Samsund DVDR-149 and tried to convert to multiregion but no luck with procedure stated.

Does the tray have to be empty/open?
Which menu button?
Do you need to be on a specific screen of the menu?
OSD of region does not appear.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I have just converted a Samsung DVD-R149 to multi region with this sequence,

Same hack for the R136 works for the R145:

1. Press the Menu button on your remote control
2. Press the 5 button on your remote control
3. Press the 7 button on your remote control
4. Press the 5 button on your remote control
5. Press the 3 button on your remote control
6. Press the 8 button on your remote control
7. The currently selected region will be indicated on the onscreen display
8. Press the 1 button on your remote control for region 1, the 2 button for region 2, and so on, or the 9 button for multi-region playback
9. Press the Menu button on your remote control
10. Press the Menu button on your remote control

Tested and Worked on my UK player (Region 2).

As you can see this was used first on models 136 & 145, so I took a chance on it working on 149, it did!
