everytime i put a wash on it fills with water ok but then after 5 minutes the dial keeps going round and doesn't stop

What most likely need to do is replace the motor brushes (£10-20 if you do it yourself) then reset macine:

turn the dial to a spot (end of programme) turn the machine on, wait for the flashes turn the machine off, turn dial to a programme then turn machine back in again..

This machine will not run through the programme if the ecu is getting a fault code from the motor - usual fault is brushes - pop em out and check for wear...

You need to check your pump and the fillter and then check you instruction manuel for reseting your timer if this does not work you may have a faulty pump or timer if no instruction book ring me and ill tell you how to reset it
