MY SON TOOK APART AND FOUND THE BROKEN COG BUT AS USUAL NO ONE WANT TO SUPPLY.REASON BEING THEY WANT CHARGE £600-700 POUND TO FIX THEMSELVES IN OTHER WORDS RIP OFF THE ELDERLY. PART PROBABLY COST 50 QUID!. WHERE CAN I GET THE GEARBOX PART? I HAVE A SUNRISE STERLING DIPLOMAT APPROX 7 YEARS OLD.BEEN TO SUNRISE BUT NOT BOTHERED ABOUT HELPING THEY REFER ME TO DEALER SO I CAN BE CHARGED A £1000.00 FOR NEW GEARBOX BUT ALL IS NEEDED IS 1 COG! CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE.

I too had same problem on a pride XL8 scooter, the local dealer wanted megabucks for a replacement transaxle,(on 5yr old machine), but instead i purchased a full machine off ebay for £90, as spares,.
Reason for failure in first place was lack of lubrication, so i made sure it was well lubed on assembly, result,,super,machine runs well, and i got a shed full of spares to go at,

Q: Who is "THEY" exactly? name them!
Ref: "BEEN TO SUNRISE BUT NOT BOTHERED ABOUT HELPING THEY REFER ME TO DEALER SO I CAN BE CHARGED A £1000.00 FOR NEW GEARBOX" Are you actually stating that THEY=SUNRISE (thats Sunrise Medical to be correct) refered you to a dealer who told you they would charge you "£1000.00 FOR NEW GEARBOX"? name them!!

Q: Exactly how old? 7,8,9,10,17. Try getting a cog for a car gearbox after 10 years!
I suggest you name and shame the Manufacture and Dealer if it is a "RIP OFF"
In answer to your Q:"CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE". Buy a broken second hand Diplomat which should be very very cheep because if a cog costs "£600-700 POUND TO FIX" and your "CHARGED A £1000.00 FOR NEW GEARBOX" who in their right mind would buy a Sunrise scooter. I would not buy a scooter with repair costs like that
