Hi. I'm looking for some information on how to replace the keyboard in an Advent 7082 Laptop. The original one had some water spilled into it a while ago and several keys stopped working. I now have a replacement keyboard and would like to know how to change it without breaking anything else. Thank you
Dont bother asking the Techguys they trashed my keyboard on my advent 6411 and were only supposed to be replacing the hard drive. Bodge it merchants, keep away from them.

Tinkerdog is right but there are actually 5 tabs along the bottom of the keyboard. Whilst it is off you may want to consider upgrading your ram if not already done as one of them lies under the silver plate. Hope this helps.

You can actually prise the keyboard away from the laptop using a small screwdriver along the bottom of the keyboard, it is held in place with four tabs. once the keyboard is loose you see an aluminum heat cover that can be removed by unscrewing four screws, you can then remove the connector by pulling the grey tabs away from the connector. Just reverse to install the new keyboard.

Andrew I know this is'nt going to help your situation but I was wondering if I could have for a small fee the letter E from your damaged keyboard?? missingthelettere@hotmail.com
