cant find screw to dis-assemble tap?

Trying to fix leaking tap. Can't find the screw that will reveal the interior to enable me to replace the washer. I have a mixer tap.I don't believe it is hidden under the red spot as that is very small and I don't believe it will come off.No other visible screws. The tap has a " gold " type band around the tap about two thirds of the way up. There is a possibility that the last remaining third ( the top ) of the tap may be a screw on / off type fitting which when unscrewed may reveal the retaining screw. Any ideas anyone please ?

There may be a hex head set screw under the red cap which will allow the handle to be released. Then unthread the retaining cap. Turn the water off to the faucet before disassembly. Keep in mind a new faucet may be the best choice. Consider the age, chance of another failure, the time to find the parts and the cost of each route.
