Ryobi 705 trimmer, how to replace rotted fuel lines?

I odered new fuel lines. One has a nub at one end that looks as if it must be inserted thru the fuel tank. There is no way to do this. The only way seems to be to order the complete fuel tank assembly, 24.95, it looks as if the lines are already installed in the new tank.
Anyone know how to do this correctly?

The way I did it was hook the filter to the line feed it from the tank opening thru the hole then push the filter down and then put the small ring on it. The other line that goes into the tank cut it at an angle and push it into the tank. hope this helps

Purchase about 3" of fuel line and feed it up from the bottom of the fuel tank and fish it out of the fuel filler hole. Attach the filter, nub, and gently pull the line from the bottom of the tank until it will no longer pull. Use a flat bladed screwdriver and reach inside the fuel tank through the filler hole and gently push down on the new filter while at the same time pulling on the fuel line from the bottom. I bent an eighth X three-quarter piece of flat strap into a "U" shape to push on the filter while pulling the line and it was much easier and didn't dent the filter. Good luck
