How can I mend part of roof felt in the loft that was destroyed by wasp?

I have a loft storage space which is covered by roof felt internally, I reckon they were rolled round and nailed to the roof internally. Severally parts of that felt were destroyed by wasps, hence I do get small wasp hives inside the loft. I have ignored the holes on the felt as no leaking happened in the past until yesterday there was a very heavy downpour and rain started to leak through those holes.

Can anyone tell me what materials can I use to mend those felts and can I buy them in general DIY stores? OR part of roof does needs repairing??

Many thanks

I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN FIT THE FELT FROM IN THE ATTIC AND MAKE IT WATER TIGHT ITS NOT POSSIBLE , HOW DID THEY GET IT UNDERNEATH THE BATTENS , ANYWAY SOUNDS LIKE U NEED TO HAVE THE ROOF STRIPED OFF AN RE FELTED IF U HAVE NATURAL SLATE KEEP THEM AN HAVE THEM PUT BACK ON SAME FOR ANY TILES , YOU WILL NEED NEW BATTEN AND FELT DONT USE BITCHAMIN FELT (TAR FELT) USE PROCTOR ROOFSHEILD IT IS EXPENSIVE BUT WILL LAST 10 TIMES LONGER , USE A PROPER ROOFING FIRM ASWELL , I WORK FOR CAMILLERI ROOFING. you can use flashing tape to fix the holes in the underfelt.
however this isnt the only problem. the felt is a secondary water barrier in case a tile is broken ect. so check the roof for any broken or loose tiles.
