How can I fix my XBOX 360?

hi, i am in iraq and my wife just sent my xbox and now it dont read any discs. it doesnt say anything it just says its reading disc and then open tray. nothing else. so do i need to send it home and get a new one or can i fix it here?

get a cd laser cleaner and try that, it may have dust on the laser, failing that check the discs are clean if not then wipe clean with a soft cloth in straight lines, if that fails its a new laser probably required
