how do I fix a washing machine (kenmore) that wont spin?

My washing machine will not spin. Any idea on why or how to fix it. It is a Sears Kenmore approximately 1999 or 2000.

the brushes may well be worn out so get a washing machine man in to put new ones in for you .the cost of brushes and labour should be around 65-70 pounds
