ring main to cu?

what is the best way of finding the two ends of the ring main as both need to be placed on the rcd side of the consumer unit.

if i was to place one end on the non protected side and one end on the protected side would this cause the rcd to trip when i try to turn on the fridge and or tv/dvd/xbox/cable.

Suggest you don`t attempt this, as both ends will go into 1 fuse / mcb. Correct testing is essential, and you need a qualified sparks. Best choice is the niceic website - they have a register of all qualified sparks in the country.
