BMW 318i Alarm Keeps Re-arming?

BMW 318i Convertible 1998. The alarm in my car keeps on re-arming after about one minute. The remote fob activates lock/unlock normally and I can drive ok. the battery (replaced) keeps going flat.
How can I fix it and are they connected?

When you say rearm do you mean the alarm keeps going off every minute?
Do you mean the car battery or the fob battery keeps going flat?
If it is the fob battery as suggested it could be "on" all the time and activating "panic" mode which happens when fob button is pressed for more than a few secs.
If vehicle battery is going flat check the wireing to the boot lid where it runs down the offside of boot aperture into a grommit if broken wires will cause problems.

Hi there,

Possibly, the fob should NOT be using batteries that much, they last for years. Sounds like you need a new fob. Its possibly that the fob is emiting a signal all the time.
