My ceiling fan swivels as it rotates and there is a knock in it as it rotates. Is it about to fall? How can I stop the swivil and the knock? I don't know the make and model since I had a contractor install it. The contractor has since retired.

If the fan is swiveling, go to any hardware store and get a balancer kit for it. In the instructions it will tell you what to do. The knocking probably coming from it hitting the ceiling.
