how do i fix alba 1001x1 dvd recorder no power blue led on?

how do i fix my alba 1001x1 dvd recorder the blue led comes on when i plug it in but nothing will work with either the controls on the machine or with the remote which has got new batteries in it.

your machine is in standby mode-clear or edit it

don't know if this will help as my recorder is a different one to yours but when it happens with mine I unplug it for a few mins and it seems to reset itself untill next time
