RCD issue?

When I plug in my Dyson into a socket upstairs, it trips the RCD. Everyting else that I works fine. Just the vacuum.
Currently connected are the security alarm, upstairs sockets, boiler system, upstairs lighting, and downstairs lighting.
Vacuum works fine thought when plugged in downstairs. :/

If you only have one RCD in your SwitchBoard ( fuse box ) i would suggest that it is an accumulation problem , minor earth leakage from the Dyson and from another source ( upstairs ). You could try unplugging everything upstairs and with the Dyson going start plugging everything else in , one at a time upstairs untill you find another suspect appliance.

Seems odd. Have you tried the machine in other sockets upstairs with the same result? If you have and the same thing happens, it must be that your upstairs sockets are RCD protected but the downstairs ones are not.
Either way, if the Dyson is tripping the RCD then there is a fault on it and it needs sending for a checkup.
Sorry i couldn't be more of a help.
