What does it mean whena dvd inserted reads disc error?

The dvd player READ THE DISC WHEN INSERTED. AnAmessage comes up that reads, Disc error. Can you tell me what that could mean and is it worth repairing or just replacing the DVD unit?

could be dirty or scratched or if it is a the wrong region disc if it is a copy disc it might have been recorded in a way your player cant read i.e disc error

For some reason your player can't read the disc.Usually suggests that disc is faulty. Try cleaning it or look for scratches. But fault isn't always visible. But if its all discs, then I think the player must be at fault. Might be worth trying a lens cleaner, although not had success with them myself. has meant a new player for me, but an expensive one might be reairable. But if you don't need advanced features, a new cheap model is often more aadaptable.

And make sure the region is right, although that usually gives a different message.

Good Luck!
