I have a gas boiler downstairs which heats water and a storage tank upstairs. My cold water supply has stopped. I can get cold water in the kitchen (mixer tap) but none upstairs. My toilet won't flush and when I turn on the power shower, some water comes out and then stops. Do I have an air lock in the cold water system and if so how do I fix it?
Just to confirm, do I need to attach hose from an outside tap onto the bathroom tap and turn the water on from the outside tap? (- if so, I don't have an outside tap!).

yes you have an airlock.
stick a garden hose pipe up the cold tap in the bathroom.
the force of the mains pressure will blow the airlock out.
